Passengers travelling on Transport for London (TfL) and Network Rail services can now use Google Street View to navigate through 18 of London’s busiest stations, including Oxford Circus, London Bridge and Tottenham Court Road.
The tool, which went live on 5 December, allows users to explore 360-degree images of stations before they travel, offering a virtual walk-through experience.
The initiative aims to support passengers with accessibility needs or those less familiar with navigating London’s transport system.
TfL said a further 18 stations will be accessible via Street View before the end of the year, including major hubs such as Waterloo, King’s Cross, Liverpool Street and Victoria.
Google collected the imagery using 360-degree backpack cameras, applying blurring technology to ensure customer and staff privacy.
The project is part of TfL’s Equity in Motion strategy, which seeks to make London’s transport network more inclusive.

Christina Calderato, director of strategy at TfL, said: “The London Underground has always been a place of innovation and we’re proud to work with Google and Network Rail to continue this strong tradition of bringing innovative technology to customers.
“By working with Google to bring Street View to our stations, our customers will now be able to more easily plan their journey through our stations with confidence.”
TfL’s Independent Disability Advisory Group and the Inclusive Transport Forum played a key role in shaping the project, highlighting that visual familiarity with stations would benefit people with access needs.
Malcolm Pitt, head of customer experience and accessibility at Network Rail, said: “Partnering with Google and Transport for London to bring Street View to our London stations will provide clear and accessible information that will give passengers the confidence to travel and make their journeys as simple and seamless as possible.”
Google’s vice president and managing director for the UK and Ireland, Debbie Weinstein, described the project as “a significant step forward” in accessibility and wayfinding.
The move is part of broader efforts by TfL to improve customer experience across its network.
In addition to Google Street View, all stations now offer free WiFi, and 4G and 5G connectivity is being rolled out in Tube and Elizabeth line stations and tunnels, allowing passengers to remain connected throughout their journey.
Google Street View is available at the following stations: Westminster, Baker Street, Oxford Circus, Canada Water, Bank, Monument, Embankment, Bond Street, Euston Square, Tottenham Court Road, Farringdon, Old Street, Whitechapel, Custom House, Tottenham Hale, London Bridge, Cannon Street and Charing Cross.
