Thameslink services will be temporarily added to the London Underground map to help give customers more travel options in the UK capital city during the coronavirus pandemic.
Transport for London (TfL) said it will add Thameslink rail services within Zones 1 to 6 to the maps displayed in stations over the coming weeks. The Thameslink services, which includes Dartford and Swanley, will also feature in the pocket Tube guide, on the TfL website and on its app.
TfL said the temporary addition to the maps will give Londoners more options and aims to encourage use of public transport while reducing the risk of a car-led recovery.
Julie Dixon, head of customer information and partnerships at TfL, said: “In light of the continuing coronavirus pandemic, and next year’s Northern line closures required to complete the Bank upgrade works, Thameslink services have been temporarily included on the Tube map to help customers move around the city.
“This has been a complicated addition to make to the map, but one that we feel will benefit Londoners as part of our work to promote safe, clean and reliable public transport use across the city.”
Step-free access information will also be shown on the maps, aiding those with accessibility needs travelling around London.
