West Midlands Cycle Hire (WMCH) is offering everyone in the region two free 30-minute rides per day during the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
WMCH has 1,500 bikes for hire across the region, including 150 e-bikes and more than 200 docking stations.
The free cycle scheme is available to anyone aged 16 or over who signs up for WMCH via the Beryl app.
The scheme is part of a range of offerings, including free shuttle buses to the various grounds and extra transport services, which will be put in place to support active travel and private vehicle alternatives for residents and visitors.

The project has also been established to help reduce congestion and offer more efficient routes for emergency services and commuters.
The Commonwealth Games are expected to bring more than a million visitors to the area between 27 July and 08 August. Ticket holders will receive free access to bus, train and tram travel for any day they are attending an event.
Five key venues will be equipped with pop-up and virtual docking stations across the West Midlands: Alexander Stadium; Smithfield; Sandwell Aquatics Centre; Arena Birmingham; and Coventry Arena and Stadium.
Andy Street, the mayor of the West Midlands, said: “The eyes of the world will be on us this summer when we play host to what is undoubtedly the biggest and highest profile event ever to grace our region.
“It is therefore imperative that we have the transport provision to match the scale of the Games, enabling our visitors to enjoy eleven days of thrilling sporting spectacle and make the most of their leisure time in the West Midlands.
“That’s why I’m so pleased that not only will spectators have the cost of public transport included as part of their tickets, but also every resident will have the chance to use our cycle-hire scheme free of charge.”
The Birmingham 2022 plan includes other measures to encourage active travel and use of public transport, including secure cycle parking at every venue, 19 park-and-ride/walk venues with 60,000 free spaces and bus links, a dedicated Get Set website and journey planner, railway station upgrades and bus priority measures to bypass traffic jams.
Transport for West Midlands, part of West Midlands Combined Authority, has developed these initiatives in partnership with Birmingham 2022, local councils, West Midlands Police and transport operators.
