The shortlist for CiTTi Awards 2024 has been officially revealed!
Organised by City Transport & Traffic Innovation Magazine (CiTTi), the UK’s leading business publication for urban transport and traffic professionals, CiTTi Awards 2024 will recognise and champion the hard work and innovation demonstrated by public- and private-sector organisations in enabling the clean, safe and efficient movement of people, goods and materials through urban environments in the UK.
This year, 115 entries were submitted by nearly 100 different organisations and presented for consideration for the third-annual CiTTi Awards.
In late July, CiTTi Magazine editor-in-chief John Thornton and the rest of the CiTTi team shortlisted the entries for a panel of 30+ sector-leading judges to scrutinise and pore over in more detail during the first few weeks of September.
Following the shortlisting stage, there are now more than 80 entries from 70+ unique organisations across 21 categories, highlighting achievements across the entire urban mobility ecosystem.
New categories set to be highlighted at the CiTTi Awards for the very first time include the AI Data Analytics Award, Ticketing & Payments Award, Connected and Autonomous Vehicles Award, Mobility-as-a-Service Award, Micromobility Award, Urban Air Mobility Award, Transportation Education and Advocacy Award, Clean Air Initiative of the Year, Traffic Management Award, Alternative Fuels Award, and City or Town of the Year Award.
“Following the success of the 2023 CiTTi Awards, this year we have an enviable shortlist of finalists comprising the very best of the UK transportation industry,” said Thornton. “It’s a testament to the strength of the CiTTi Awards that we are recognising organisations across more categories than ever before.
“We now move on to the judging in September, which will no doubt be an arduous and thorough process presided over by some of the UK’s foremost transportation experts.
“Indeed, their pedigree in the sector is unrivalled and their years of service to the industry leaves them perfectly positioned to identify the cream of the crop of this year’s shortlisted entries.”
This year’s finalists include local government, transport authorities, transport operators and, in some cases, their project partners, chiefly technology companies and solution providers, demonstrating the importance of public-private partnerships as a catalyst for sustainable transport development in urban centres.
The winners will be publicly revealed at a dazzling ceremony on 26 November 2024 at De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in central London and be attended by 200-300 UK transport professionals.
“It’s sure to be a fabulous occasion and a true celebration of some fantastic efforts and success stories from the past 12 months,” added Thornton.
