Acclaimed Irish stand-up comedian Andrew Ryan has been announced as the special guest host of CiTTi Awards 2024.
A breakfast presenter on Q radio, Ryan has appeared on a number of TV shows in the UK and Ireland, including BBC3’s Russell Howard’s Good News and Best of the Edinburgh Festival Live, The Blame Game on BBC 1 and Live at The Comedy Store and Live for MIND on Comedy Central.
On radio, Ryan is a prolific contributor to TalkSport and has made numerous appearances as a team captain on football show Gloryhunters. He has also hosted two series of Secrets of the Comedy Circuit over the last two years on ITVX & UTV and appeared on Comedy Central live on numerous occasions performing stand up.
Described by Timeout as “utterly brilliant” and by The Skinny as “charming, hilarious and accessible with some really powerful thinking underneath it all”, Ryan will imbue his succinctly thoughtful comedic style into the announcement of the winners of the third annual CiTTi Awards during a ceremony at De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in central London on 26 November 2024.
The ceremony will be attended by 200 of the UK’s leading transport professionals from local, regional and central government and other place stakeholders – including landowners, developers, and business improvement districts – and their project partners, such as architects, planners, contractors, and technology companies.
Guests will be greeted with a drinks reception held in the Balmoral Suite ahead of the winners being announced within the impressive surrounds of the Grand Hall, which features arched ornate ceilings, beautiful wood-panelling and dramatic chandeliers.
November’s trophy-giving ceremony and public announcement of the winners follows a thorough and exacting shortlisting and judging process, which saw more than 20 transport industry experts evaluate written entries and Zoom-based presentations from nearly 90 organisations across 21 categories.
