The BMW Group has released figures which demonstrate that the company has reduced CO2 emissions from its new car fleet in Europe again. In 2016, the BMW Group had cut emissions down to 124g/km and this year emissions are down a further 2 grams at 122 grams/kilometre.
The BMW Group has been committed to reducing CO2 emissions from its EU fleet for years. It has been successful in doing so as since 1995 emissions from new vehicles sold in Europe has been reduced by over 42 per cent.
Harald Krüger, chairman of the board of management of BMW AG explains that “development clearly shows that our e-mobility strategy is successful. We are adding more electric drives to our vehicle fleet, while also working on fuel-saving technologies for our conventional drives.”
He continues: “By 2025, our global vehicle portfolio will include 25 fully- or part-electric models. At last year’s Frankfurt Motor Show, we unveiled our take on the future of e‑mobility with the BMW iVision Dynamics. This vehicle will become reality: we will build it in Munich – as the BMW i4.”
