Lidar developer Hesai Technology has launched its new 360° long-range lidar OT128, autonomous vehicle developer Easymile deploying the new solution in its autonomous buses.
The solution is designed to support the development of autonomous vehicles’ all-around sensing capabilities and has a design life of 30,000 hours.
OT128 can achieve a detection range of up to 200 meters at 10% reflectivity, meeting the requirements of level 4 (L4) autonomous driving and other high-precision applications.
With an angular resolution of 0.1° x 0.125° and data points exceeding 3.45 million points per second, the OT128 captures environmental details with levels of clarity that supports precise sensing in complex scenarios.
EasyMile has begun using Lidar in their L4 autonomous vehicles, specifically their autonomous bus systems.
General manager of Easymile, Benoit Perrin, said: “Hesai has a track record of designing industry-leading performance lidars.
“The OT128 has ultra-high resolution, long-range perception, with a level of support that doesn’t compromise functionality. These were fundamental features we needed for our autonomous vehicles.”
Achievements and innovations in connected autonomous vehicles will be celebrated at the third annual CiTTi Awards, which will be held on 26 November 2024 at De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in London.
