From May 2022 riders of Deutsche Bahn in Stuttgart will be able to add a Brompton Bike subscription to their annual rail ticket purchase, following a partnership between the two companies.
Brompton Bicycle described the move as “an exciting opportunity to trial and build insight into multimodal travel in Germany in partnership with a national rail network”.
The DB Connect pilot project will enable riders to hire a folding bike from Brompton for an additional €29 (£24) a month, which includes both insurance and a service check after six months.
The Brompton bike model X Line Utility will be available for hire. Measuring 65 x 59cm and weighing 12kg, the folding bike is designed to be easy to stow – whether on the train, in the office or at home.
