London’s Lime e-bikes are getting a ‘wild’ make-over this April, to raise funds for conservation charity WWF.
The mobility operator will wrap a portion of its London e-bike fleet in animal print, with all revenue raised from rides on the rebranded bikes donated to WWF.
According to the collaboration, the funds raised will contribute towards WWF’s local climate projects in the UK.
Furthermore, Lime will also promote WWF’s my footprint app to riders in the capital. The app helps users to continue to make more sustainable choices each day, such as by reducing plastic use or eating more plant-based meals.
Alan Clarke, Lime’s director of policy and government affairs for Northern Europe, said: “We know our 400,000 London riders are making sustainable choices every day, so we wanted to launch this campaign as an easy way for them to support WWF and learn more about the ways we can work together to create a cleaner and greener environment for everyone.”
The wrap campaign will last for one month, with further fundraising activity planned for Earth Day on 22 April.
During this time, rebranded Lime vehicles will been seen across Europe, including in Spain and Italy, as well as globally, in South Korea and the United States.
The partnership said it hopes the project will bring attention to the urgent fight against climate change and the role cleaner transportation can play in combating climate emissions.
It also builds on Lime’s existing ride green initiative with WWF, which is aimed at promoting cleaner modes of transportation and grassroots advocacy to advance more sustainable urban mobility.
Lime added it has safely delivered over three million zero-carbon e-bike rides in London in under three years. It said this has helped local residents avoid over 750,000 car journeys to date.
The e-mobility company has pledged to be carbon negative by 2025, across the entire company and supply chain.
