Lime has partnered with transit app Citymapper to enable riders to locate e-bikes and e-scooters in 21 cities around the world, including London.
The e-mobility provider said the real-time integration on the app will encourage users to choose sustainable active travel modes of transport as life returns to normal following the coronavirus pandemic.
Alex Thomas, partnerships lead at Citymapper, said: “Micromobility is changing how we get around cities, and Covid-19 has made alternatives like cycles and scooters an even more important part of our urban infrastructure.
“Users can now view their cycle and scooter trip routes alongside public transport options in the Citymapper app, and then be guided to their destination in real time with our turn-by-turn directions.”
As part of the partnership, Citymapper’s ‘Super Duper’ pass in London will now include Lime as its exclusive e-mobility provider. The pass is aimed at regular commuters and provides users with £10 of Lime ride credits per week, equivalent to approximately four free rides.
This allows riders to connect to transport hubs across London, to which the ‘Super Duper’ pass gives unlimited use.
Sara Lannin, head of business development at Lime, added: “Citymapper has quickly become a go-to app for city residents and visitors on the move.
“The partnership will offer Citymapper users a safe, sustainable and socially-distant option to make short trips, or to combine with public transit for longer distances, furthering our mission to inspire people-first cities by making it even easier to ditch the car and travel sustainably.”
UK cities included in the partnership are London and Great Manchester. In Europe, it will be rolled out to Paris, Lisbon, Brussels, Madrid, Stockholm, Dusseldorf and Vienna.
The US cities of Los Angeles, San Francisco Bay, Seattle, Chicago, Cleveland, Denver, Austin, Washington DC and St Louis are also included.
