Tier, a micromobility provider, has launched its new sixth-generation e-scooter in countries across Europe.
It plans to introduce the model and updates its fleets in Germany, Austria, Hungary and Sweden.
Tier claims this model has a more robust design for frequent city use, as well as features to improve smoothness of riding, safety and reliability.
According to Tier, some of its functions include direct visual feedback about restrictions in the surrounding environment, such as no parking zones, improved turning signals, a phone holder and maximised bump absorption.
“The new scooter model is a major improvement, both in terms of the user experience and the value we bring to cities,” said Dr. Julian Lehmann, director of product, planning and strategy at Tier.
“With our new Tier six scooter model, we aim to set new standards in the micro-mobility industry and introduce the safest, most durable and sustainable vehicle in the industry.
“Designed from the ground up for efficient and sustainable operation, our sixth-generation e-scooter model is more durable, modular and has a longer lifespan than the average shared-use e-scooter.”
Tier riders have reportedly already completed more than 125 million rides and travelled a total distance of approximately 250 million kilometres (155 million miles) across 22 countries. The firm currently operates in more than 240 cities and works with more than 50 different public transport operators.
