A group of mobility companies have teamed with an aluminium producer and designer to create a three-wheeled urban delivery solution.
Electric car maker Polestar and electric motorcycle manufacturer Cake have partnered with aluminium firm Hydro and designer Konstantin Grcic for the Re:Move project.
Re:Move is described as a new sustainable way to carry and deliver goods following the coronavirus pandemic.
The group said it aimed to reimagine last-mile deliveries and how goods are transported within cities whilst reducing reliance on combustion engines.
Grcic said he had designed Re:Move to be a dynamic, three-wheeled urban ‘sled’. “The horizontal platform and the vertical shield is something you don’t see in vehicle design. This is how you’d build a table or a shelf. I think the simplicity and directness, the pragmatism, is nice.
“Good design has always been sustainable, because it’s lasting. Things that have a long lifecycle are sustainable.”
The solution is suitable for bike lanes and can carry a 275kg payload. Furthermore, it has been built with fully recyclable and low carbon aluminium.
A working version of Re:Move will be unveiled this autumn.
