Swedish micromobility provider Voi has expanded its new range of e-mobility options to Oxford, launching 100 new e-bikes in the city.
To use the bikes, customers will need to sign up to Voi and unlock the bikes with the Voi app. Customers will need to return them to existing e-scooter parks around Oxford once they’re finished using them.
General manager for Voi UK, James Bolton, said: “We are sure people in Oxford will find our e-bikes a great addition to transport options in the city.
“We’ve had brilliant feedback from riders when we’ve launched this new e-bike in other locations in the UK and abroad.”
The bikes are powered by a swappable battery which is compatible with the company’s e-scooters.
Enhanced safety features include high-grip tyres, a powerful braking system, front and rear lights which switch on automatically when the bike is unlocked, reflectors and an easy-to-use bell.
Leader of Oxfordshire County Council, councillor Liz Leffman, said: “Offering more opportunities for people to move around Oxford easily is very welcome.
“I’m very excited that the city is now benefitting from public bike hire that can be easily accessed and presents the chance to use e-bikes in city travel without cost being an obstacle.”
Achievements and innovations in e-mobility will be celebrated at the third annual CiTTi Awards, which will be held on 26 November 2024 at De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in London.
