BP Pulse has announced that it will adopt software provider Jumptech’s platform to support customer installation of home EV charge-points across the UK.
Jumptech’s solution is designed to help streamline EV charge-point installations by simplifying processes and improving information flows to and from the customer.
BP Pulse customers will be able to supply information about their property and desired installation including any required imagery. This is sent to a team of advisors who will then be able to progress the application.
The platform also automatically generates all the documents for the UK government’s EV home-charge scheme grant and the relevant form for the customer’s local distribution network.
BP Pulse said the platform will centralise existing processes including scheduling installations for specific home-charge electricians. It also ensures that all necessary information and images are captured for compliance purposes via the Jumptech mobile app.
Matteo de Renzi, CEO of BP Pulse, said: “We have already seen over 100,000 EVs registered in 2020, and we could see triple that in 2021.
“We have already successfully installed more than 60,000 home charging points to date and working with Jumptech will help us to hit 100,000 and beyond.
“We are focused on helping to make owning and driving an electric vehicle easier and the Jumptech platform will help us to make our customer journey as seamless as possible.”
BP Pulse added that it also aims to expand its public charging network. Its figures show it currently has 7,000 public charge points across the UK. By 2030 it aims to increase that to 16,000, including 1,400 ultra-fast chargers.
Earlier this month BP Pulse signed an exclusive memorandum of understanding (MOU) with FreeWire Technologies for a battery-powered ultra-fast charging solution.
