Citroën has launched a light commercial vehicle (LCV) model of its fully-electric two-seater AMI, designed for last-mile delivery service providers.
The My AMI Cargo has replaced the passenger seat with a seven-part cargo module, providing the vehicle with a pay-load of 140kg and a maximum load capacity of 400-litres.
According to Citroën, the LCV has been designed to be “small on the outside and big on the inside”.
The cargo floor can be raised and locked vertically, so as not to obstruct the cargo zone, or lowered into a horizontal position to match the level of the vehicle floor. This latter position allows the user to carry longer objects with a maximum length of 1.20m. Cargo retainers are provided to secure fragile items.
There is also a vertical separating partition between the driver and cargo area. This has been positioned to provide optimum space between the driver and the cargo, ensuring the driver is protected and can enjoy driving in comfort.
A recess in the separating partition gives the driver sufficient space to operate the handbrake without any obstructions. The partition’s height is calibrated to preserve 360° visibility for total safety.
With a steel tubular structure that protects against impacts, My AMI Cargo is designed to offer superior safety compared to two or three wheeled vehicles, as well as protection from adverse weather conditions.
Its 5.5kWh lithium-ion battery pack provides 47miles of zero-emission range, a full charge from a standard socket takes three hours.
Furthermore, fleets can personalise My AMI Cargo with company logos and customised colour schemes.
Although not confirmed for the UK, Citroën has launched a ‘Register Your Interest’ form for the Citroën AMI passenger vehicle to gauge public interest levels for potential introduction to the UK market.
It will be available in France from June, with both sales and rental packages available.
