Car-park operator and CiTTi Awards 2023 finalist Q-Park has announced the completion of a new electric vehicle (EV) charging hub at the company’s OMNI parking facility in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Located on the entry level of the car park, the hub comprises eight 7kW chargepoints operated by Blink Charging, available on a pay-as-you-go basis.
To use the facility, users must plug their vehicle into one of the chargers and then tap their contactless bank card on the payment terminal next to it.
The EV charging hub at OMNI represents the latest investment into the car park by Q-Park, which took over the 1,000-capacity facility in 2013 and has since acquired two further parking facilities in Scotland’s capital city in recent years.

Q-Park is currently investing more than £3m in the UK and Ireland on the rollout of initially 600+ EV charging points across its portfolio of parking facilities.
Installations commenced last year and included the modernisation of existing charging infrastructure with new hardware.
On completion of the deployment programme, discussions will start on future phases.
John Denton, head of commercial at Q-Park UK and Ireland, said: “Liveability in urban areas is vitally important, and we are delighted to help support more emission-free miles being driven with good quality charging infrastructure.”
The company currently administers 677,000 parking spaces in more than 3,400 parking facilities in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Great Britain, France, Ireland, and Denmark.
Achievements and innovations in EV charging will be celebrated at the third annual CiTTi Awards, which will be held on 26 November 2024 at the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in London. Nominations officially open in March 2024. Please visit www.cittiawards.co.uk to learn more about this unmissable event for the UK’s transportation sector.
