EV start-up Mina Energy has announced a new partnership with The Algorithm People to encourage fleet managers to make the switch to EVs.
Sheffield-based Mina said it aims to make it easier for EV fleet adoption and management by combining its charging platform with The Algorithm People’s data-based fleet analysis. The company believes fleet optimisation software will improve return on investment once EVs are deployed.
Chris Dalrymple, director of Mina, said: “By partnering with The Algorithm People we can create an even more compelling proposition for fleet operators. Together we can offer a fresh perspective on the entire process, from identifying the right vehicles to electrify, and optimising their use; to simplifying EV charging, energy billing and employee expenses.”
Mina currently offers an EV ‘fuel card’, which enables employees to charge electric cars and vans at home, before claiming the costs back from employers. Fleet managers get an invoice for the energy used via its fleet dashboard. This will now be combined with The Algorithm People’s analysis of a fleets’ existing data, identifying which vehicles and routes are most suited to electrification.
According to the collaboration, the software could deliver savings of up to 30% and a fleet mileage reduction of up to 20%.
Colin Ferguson, CEO of The Algorithm People, said: “We are proud that Mina Energy is joining our partner network. The UK has ambitious targets for electric vehicle adoption, but barriers still exist for businesses to adopt EVs. Innovative solutions from companies like Mina help to remove those barriers and will accelerate fleet electrification.”
