Electric vehicle (EV) chargepoint provider Invisible Urban Charging (IUC) has announced a partnership with EV Charging of Arizona to roll out 13,980 chargepoints across Arizona, increasing the number of state chargers by seven times.
Arizona has more than 40,000 registered EVs, according to a June 2022 report from the U.S. Department of Energy.
IUC also recently announced plans to install more than 6,000 EV chargers across Florida.
Installation is expected to begin in Q1 2023. EV Charging of Arizona is managed by developer S3 Biotech, which is developing several sites in Arizona with the intention of establishing smart city facilities, including a new medical campus in Maricopa.
Jones Lang Lasalle (JLL), a global leader in property development and management, will act as installation partner and operate through its nationwide network of electrical contractors, logistics and signage partners.
“IUC is proud to be working with S3 Biotech to get ahead of the growing demand from staff and visitors to their development in the City of Maricopa, and also to other cities in the great state of Arizona,” said Nigel Broomhall, co-founder and CEO of IUC.
“More EV chargers help reduce range anxiety and encourage more Americans to drive electric, something that is good for everyone’s long term health, and ultimately their wallets.
“Next-generation facilities like those that S3 Biotech is developing attract businesses and employees that want to move to electric and having chargers on-site makes these campuses highly attractive places to work.”
IUC was founded in 2019 with the aim of speeding up the transition to electric transportation and has plans to deploy nearly 20,000 EV chargers across the US during the next 12-18 months.
