L-Charge, a UK-based developer of electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions, and DAX Industries, an engineering company, have jointly announced the launch of a manufacturing centre for mobile and fixed EV chargers in Riga, Latvia.
The two companies claim that their off-grid ultra-fast chargers will be the first of their kind in the world.
L-Charge’s first product to launch was the mobile charging truck, which incorporates a mini-power station onboard that uses clean fuels to produce electricity. The trucks can be called by users to a chosen location via an app and reportedly provides super-fast charging, from 0% to 80% in between 15 and 25 minutes.
Global sales of EVs totalled 4.2 million in the first half of 2022, a 63% increase year-on-year, according to a Canalys technology analyst. L-Charge points to that fact that large corporations are increasing their investments in green tech, pushing firms that lease and manage vehicle fleets to convert to EVs faster than previously anticipated.
“Our company has accumulated competence in logistics, engineering, production and sustainability,” said Maksims Isajevs, the CEO of DAX Industries.
“For DAX, collaboration with L-Charge is a logical step towards progressing in the green transport field.
“Collectively, by combining our experience, we expect to occupy a significant share of the charging infrastructure market in the EU and, possibly, take advantage of the European support schemes to accelerate the ‘green’ transition.”
The cooperation between L-Charge and DAX was established to accelerate the adoption of green transport options.
