Liberty Charge, an electric vehicle (EV) chargepoint operator, has announced the completion of its integration with Paua, a payment solution provider for EV charging, offering those who use its payment service access to Liberty Charge’s network.
Paua offers a payment app and card solution, which is compatible with more than 20 operators that represent a combined network of more than 19,000 chargepoints.
Liberty Charge claims to provide a fully-financed solution which encompasses all chargepoint speeds for publicly accessible EV charging.
The network operator also provides street-level micro hubs aimed to increase charging access for those without chargepoint compatible driveways.
Business drivers will now be able to access these locations through use of the Paua card, which is supported by a mobile app offering live network and charging updates.
Liberty Charge says that, as only two thirds of UK local authorities have an EV infrastructure plan, and only 14% have a dedicated resource for this, there are significant challenges in terms of EV accessibility that need to be addressed.
“Liberty Charge offers a truly end-to-end privately funded solution, including the full range of charging speeds,” said Neil Isaacson, CEO of Liberty Charge.
“Working with Paua ensures that we cater for businesses as well as local residents.
“We are excited to see what this partnership can do to support British businesses’ transition to zero emissions transport.”
“Paua is delighted to be working with Liberty Charge on this journey,” said Niall Riddell, co-founder and CEO of Paua.
“We look forward to supporting fleets of all shapes and sizes onto our roaming platform.”
Liberty Charge’s network reportedly uses entirely renewable energy, aligning with Paua’s own sustainability agenda that all motorists receive clean energy while using the payment service.
