Electric scooter and bike company Lime has announced a partnership with hospitality business Fuller’s, to provide the latter’s London-based staff with safe transportation home.
The offer includes 50% of all Lime e-scooter and e-bike rides in London, citing recent research which revealed that 49% of women surveyed felt unsafe walking home after dark.
What’s more, hospitality workers are often required to work late hours. Lime suggests that, in response to this, this deal will offer both an affordable and safe option for Fuller’s employees.
The mutual agreement was confirmed through an introduction by the Women’s Night Safety Charter, which is designed to promote women’s safety after dark, and of which both companies are signatories.
The micromobility operator claims this partnership aligns with its commitment to improve women’s safety, and get more women cycling in London, with them currently representing just 39% of cyclists in the capital.
Amy Lamé, London’s night czar, said: “All women and girls should feel safe travelling, working or going out at night in our city, and we all have a part to play to ensure that is the case.
“We created the Women’s Night Safety Charter to bring organisations together to prioritise women’s safety at night, and I’m delighted that this partnership will provide another travel option for hospitality workers when they finish working late at night.”
Lime’s discount will reportedly apply across e-scooter and e-bike rentals for all 2,000 of Fuller’s hospitality employees.
