Fenie Energia, a marketer of electricity, gas and energy efficiency solutions comprised of more than 3,000 Spanish installation companies, and Cabify, a multi-mobility platform, have signed an agreement to collaborate on the implementation of electric vehicle (EV) chargepoints throughout Spain.
The goal of the partnership is to accelerate the electrification of vehicles for taxi drivers and self-employed drivers that use Cabify, according to the two companies.
Cablify says that this work will demonstrate its commitment to the decarbonisation of mobility in the 10 cities it operates in within Spain.
What’s more, more than 4,000 taxi and drivers who choose to collaborate with Cabify in these cities will reportedly receive the installation of a chargepoint in their homes, supplied through Feníe Energía with an 18% discount.
According to the two partners, the charging devices they have selected represent the most up-to-date technology for the domestic sector and have a maximum recharging power of 7.4 kW.
Furthermore, this recharging capacity can supposedly supply the power needed for an entire working day for a ride-hailing service or taxi in around six or seven hours. This, the companies claim, is compatible with a workers’ schedule as it amounts to about a night’s rest.
Paula Roman, general manger of Fenie Energia, said of the partnership: “It reinforces our position as a benchmark in the installation of electric vehicle charging infrastructures.
“We work with domestic customers, companies, and city councils through our network of energy agents, a highly well-spread network in all regions of Spain.”
