EV charging infrastructure provider Swarco eVolt has installed a new charging hub at Wallyford Park & Choose for bus and rail commuters in East Lothian, Scotland.
Located off the arterial A1, EV drivers heading for Edinburgh city centre or further afield will now have access to 18 new charging stations, including two Swarco eVolt 150kW high-power chargers.
East Lothian Council has installed 83 charging points across the county since 2019 and the council said it hopes to reach 100 by the end of the year. Some 45 of the charging points have been installed across 28 sites by Swarco eVolt, covering a range of East Lothian’s largest towns, rural towns and villages.
Ryan Robertson, EV infrastructure officer at East Lothian Council, said: “We are fully committed to providing the residents and businesses of East Lothian with more access to essential and reliable charging infrastructure. This is something we want to continue to invest in.
“As a hugely popular and vital transport service for the local communities, Wallyford Park & Choose is the ideal location for this strategic charging hub.”
