Hull City Council has expanded the number of zero-emission vehicles in its fleet by adding 13 fully electric vans.
Kingstown Works Limited (KWL), a provider of housing maintenance, street lighting and vehicle fleet services for Hull City Council, has added the Peugeot e-Expert vans to its fleet, increasing the number of zero-emissions vehicles to 60.
KWL said it chose the Peugeot e-Expert due to its 211-mile range from a single charge and maximum payload of 1,226kg, which meet criteria for building maintenance and repair services.
The fleet will be supported by 100kW rapid charging stations that can provide 80% of charge in 30 minutes.
David Peel, managing director of Peugeot UK, said: “We are delighted that Kingstown Works Limited and Hull City Council has welcomed the Peugeot e-Expert with the aim to electrify its entire fleet.
“We have been working with the team from Kingston upon Hull very closely for years and are thrilled to see that our latest, full electric van will be able to help KWL and the council continue to provide essential services.”
Both Hull City Council and KWL said they are working towards electrifying the entire fleet in the future.
