Parking facilities provider and CiTTi Awards 2023 finalist Q-Park has signed a deal with Gloucester City Council and its partners Reef Group to manage a new 398-space car park at The Forum development in the city centre.
The Forum car park will sit behind TWO Cathedral View, one of the development’s two main office buildings, and close to what will be a new boutique hotel, when IHG Hotels & Resorts opens its latest Hotel Indigo.
Spaces will be available for companies that occupy The Forum and will be open to the public.
What’s more, some 10% of the parking spaces will offer EV charging points and there are plans to introduce Q-Park’s PaSS automatic number plate recognition system to allow mobile payments and online pre-booking.
Councillor Richard Cook, leader of Gloucester City Council, said: “We’re very pleased to welcome Q-Park to The Forum.
“One of the leading lights in its sector, the company reflects the forward thinking ethos of The Forum with its reputation for excellent customer care and their innovative approach to car park management.”
This phase of The Forum comprises the main campus development, including the car park, and is expected to complete in late 2024.
The Forum is part of the £200m Kings Quarter Regeneration in Gloucester city centre, being delivered by Gloucester City Council and its partners Reef and the University of Gloucestershire.
Achievements and innovations in smart parking will be celebrated at the third annual CiTTi Awards, which will be held on 26 November 2024 at the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in London. Nominations officially open in March 2024. Visit www.cittiawards.co.uk to learn more about this unmissable event for the UK’s transportation sector.
