Charge point operator, Believ, is rolling out electric vehicle (EV) charge points across Redcar and Cleveland through funding from theĀ On-Street Residential ChargePoint Scheme (ORCS).
Charge points will be located in a wide variety of council-owned car parks across community and leisure centres, and public parking areas.
The first tranche of 22 chargers are set to be installed in the spring/summer of 2025.
Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council cabinet member for climate and culture Carrie Richardson said: āWe are a forward-thinking council, making significant progress in developing the boroughās EV infrastructure to support local people with making greener travel choices.
āIt is vital we deliver a reliable and accessible network for those who do not have access to private charging and to ensure no one is left behind in the transition to electric vehicles.
“That is why we are using government funding to serve the residential areas less likely to have attracted private industry funding.
āIn partnering with Believ, we have access to all charging speeds and their depth of experience in understanding what technology is best suited to what location.ā
Achievements and innovations in EV charging infrastructure will be recognised and celebrated at the fourth annual CiTTi Awards on 25 November 2025 at De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in London. Visit www.cittiawards.co.ukĀ to learn more about this unmissable event for the UKās transportation sector!
