The first Renault electric medium-duty vehicles have been sold to bakery company Warburtons and recycling firm Suez, and will begin operations later this year.
According to Renault, battery-electric vehicles will be used by Warburtons in London to delivery six tonnes of bread and bakery products to locations across the capital with zero emissions. Warburtons has purchased the first Renault Trucks D Z.E. 16t, which is equipped with box body, rear side door and tail lift, via PPS Commercials, for its secondary bread fleet.
Furthermore, in Bristol, Suez will use a Renault Trucks D Wide Z.E. 26t refuse vehicle to collect commercial waste in the city centre and transport it to the company’s recycling and reprocessing site.
Carlos Rodrigues, managing director of Renault Trucks UK and Ireland, said: “Renault Trucks is delighted to announce the introduction of our first two medium-duty D Z.E. vehicles with these two outstanding companies.
“Warburtons and Suez are not only household names and leaders in their respective sectors, but leaders in the sustainability journey, which we must all embrace.”
