Some 829 new public EV chargers were installed in the UK last month, increasing the UK total to 32,663 charging points, according to monthly data from Zap-Map.
This reportedly marks a 34% increase in EV charging since June 2021 and follows record-breaking growth in April 2022.
Zap-Map’s data reveals how many public charging points currently exist across the UK, including the growth rate of infrastructure, where the biggest networks are located and the distribution of outlets by geographical region. It also details the number of rapid chargers available.
As of June 2022, there are more than 6,000 rapid and ultra-rapid charging devices across the UK.
Zap-Map reports that, though rapid and ultra-rapid devices only make up 20% of total chargers, they are responsible for 60% of the UK’s charging capacity.
