Working in partnership with North Somerset Council, Yunex Traffic has installed and commissioned two rapid charging units for a new EV charging hub in Portishead, Somerset.
With two 50kW rapid DC charging units serving four parking bays, the hub forms part of Revive, a dedicated charging network for the West of England, for which Yunex Traffic has installed more than 70 EV chargers for chargepoints across the south-west region. The rapid chargers enable EV drivers to charge their vehicles in 30 to 60 minutes.
Cllr Bridget Petty, North Somerset Council’s executive member for climate emergency and engagement, said: “The new rapid charging hub near Portishead Marina, along with the growing Revive network, is a positive move towards our vision of a greener transport system that is kinder to the environment.”
Situated close to Portishead Marina in Somerset, the hub is part of four that are being delivered across the region to help encourage drivers across the West of England to switch to EVs.
Wilke Reints, managing director, intelligent traffic systems for Siemens Mobility, said: “The hub has a familiar look and feel for drivers, with a similar layout to existing fuel stations, but with a fresher, more modern and sustainable feel.
“Our team provided full design, consultation, supply, installation, commissioning and support to North Somerset Council and are proudly working on a range of EV infrastructure projects in towns and cities across the UK, adding to more than 400 rapid charging units that we have already supplied.”
