Electric vehicle (EV) drivers in the UK are set to benefit from a new partnership between Zapmap, a public charging app, and Hive, an eco-tech brand, aimed at simplifying both at-home and on-the-road charging.
The collaboration will provide new Hive EV customers with a £20 credit for public charging when they pay through Zapmap.
Drivers can use Zapmap’s digital payment service or a Hive Charging Card to access thousands of chargepoints across the UK.
According to the companies, the initiative is the first step in a wider strategy to integrate home and public charging.
The partnership’s long-term goal is to support more than a million customers in transitioning to EVs within the next three years.
Future developments could include further integration between the Hive app and Zapmap’s platform, allowing users to monitor charging activity, pay via multiple methods, and potentially link public charging costs to household energy bills.
Susan Wells, director of EV at Hive, said: “At home or on the road, Hive is on a mission to make EV charging simple and affordable.
“Through our partnership, we’re exploring how we can bring together the Hive app and Zapmap’s digital platform to offer further exciting customer benefits.”
Achievements and innovations in EV charging infrastructure will be recognised and celebrated at the fourth annual CiTTi Awards on 25 November 2025 at De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in London. Visit www.cittiawards.co.uk to learn more about this unmissable event for the UK’s transportation sector!
