Swedish parking operator Stockholm Parkering has announced that it is undergoing the procurement of 10,000 EV charging points over a four-year period, reportedly Sweden’s largest-ever procurement of EV infrastructure.
The procurement has been published throughout the EU and includes the purchase of equipment but not the cost of installation. The move is part of the company’s aim to electrify all of its parking spaces.
The deal includes charging outlets for Stockholm Parkering and for the City of Stockholm’s companies Stockholmshem, Svenska Bostäder, Familjebostäder and Skolfastigheter i Stockholm (SISAB).
“The City of Stockholm has high ambitions when it comes to charging infrastructure,” said Christian Rockberger, CEO of Stockholm Parkering.
“Already at the end of next year, between 20 and 30% of the city’s parking spaces on surfaces and in garages will have charging facilities.”
Stockholm Parkering has actively installed chargers since 2009 and now has charging sockets in half of the parking spaces it owns, corresponding to 5,000 charging sockets.
