As a 30+ year CIO/CTO I have a passion for technology and the transportation paradigm shift of the 21st century towards autonomous, connected, and electric vehicles.
What is the biggest challenge facing those with responsibility for intelligent transportation systems and tolling/road pricing in 2021?
Giving thought how best to replace the gas tax going forward.
How will the business of road-user charging have changed by 2030?
By 2030 increased adoption of EVs on US roads will require that we have ditched the gas tax and switched to a viable replacement such as vehicle miles travelled as an infrastructure funding mechanism.
