The shortlist for the inaugural CiTTi Awards 2022 is finally here!
Organised by CiTTi Magazine, the inaugural CiTTi Awards will recognise and celebrate the hard work and innovation demonstrated in the UK, or by UK-based businesses and organisations, in enabling the clean, safe and efficient movement of people, goods and materials through different urban environments.
The winners will be revealed at a special ceremony held at the Postal Museum, London, on Tuesday 22 November 2022. It’s sure to be a glittering occasion and a celebration of some fantastic efforts and success stories from the past 12 months.
The night will feature a glamorous drinks reception, followed by a three course dinner before the main event. Anyone can book a table now, whether you’re a finalist or not, by completing the awards’ online booking form.
Over the summer, a total of 70 entries, submitted by 37 different organisations, were presented for consideration for the CiTTi Awards. In mid-August, CiTTi Magazine editor John Thornton and the rest of the CiTTi team sat down to shortlist the entries for the panel of judges to scrutinise and pore over in more detail during the first few weeks of October.
And, following that shortlisting stage, there are now 52 entries from 32 organisations across 12 different categories, highlighting achievements in active travel, clean air, congestion reduction, electric vehicle (EV) charging, fleet innovation, future projects, last-mile delivery, public transport, road safety, shared mobility and smart parking.
“Having been part of the shortlisting process, it’s clear that the integrity of these awards is taken very seriously – we said we wanted to see clear evidence of innovation, collaboration, implementation and execution via novel and original solutions and projects, and that’s what we’ve got,” said Thornton.
“We’ll end up with worthy winners, though making the shortlist is an achievement in and of itself and worth shouting about.”
Shortlisted entrants include local government, transport operators and, in some cases, their project partners, chiefly technology companies and solution providers, demonstrating the importance of public-private partnerships as a catalyst for sustainable transport development in urban centres.
