Professor Saber Fallah, senior lecturer in vehicle and mechatronic systems at the University of Surrey, has been announced as a speakerĀ at CiTTi Conference 2024!
Set to take place on Tuesday 10 September 2024 at 30 Euston Square in London, the CiTTi Conference is organised by CiTTi Magazine and will and provide an exciting new platform for urban mobility and transportation professionals to discuss, learn and debate the latest legislative and regulatory policies driving the development and implementation of next-generation urban mobility solutions.
At the one-day event, Professor Fallah will explore the significance of artificial intelligence (AI) in achieving fully autonomous driving, highlighting related safety concerns and decision-making challenges, including the complex decision-making roles AI must play in autonomous vehicles, particularly the ethical dilemmas arising from situations with no clear optimal solutions.

He’ll also discuss the limitations of AI in deductive and abductive reasoning, a key aspect of human decision-making, and how its inability to reason like humans in complex situations can hinder its effectiveness in dealing with autonomous vehicles.
Professor Fallah is one of a number of experts confirmed to speak at CiTTi Conference 2024, including councillor Paul Dimoldenberg, cabinet member for city management and air quality at Westminster City Council, which will see a number of exclusive case-study presentations and in-depth panel discussions explore the latest industry developments and future thinking from growing towns and major cities around the UK.
