Optibus, a cloud-native, end-to-end software platform for public transportation planning and operations, has announced the opening of its Nordic headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden following soon-to-be-announced customer signings in the region.
Led by Julie Jacobson Möller, Optibus’ regional director for the Nordics, the new HQ is based in the Kollektivtrafikens Hus at Stockholm Central Station, a dedicated work space for Sweden’s public transportation industry.
Optibus’ expanded presence in the Nordics aims to enable transportation providers across Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, and Iceland to leverage optimisation algorithms and artificial intelligence to develop smart solutions for local challenges, including driver shortages and electric bus operations, which support a larger regional goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Dave Joshua, Optibus’ general manager for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, said: “The Nordics are leading the way in sustainable public transportation.
“Optibus’ technology can help to advance that mission by making it easier and more affordable to manage electric buses, benefitting the operators of public transportation and making Nordic cities cleaner and greener.”
