Good Energy, a renewable electricity supplier, has announced that is has given Zap-Map, an electric vehicle (EV) charge point mapping service, £9m in a recent funding round, raising its total market worth to £26.3m.
This includes a further £3.7m investment from Good Energy and a £5.3m investment from new strategic investor Fleetcor UK Acquisition Limited (Fleetcor), a global fuel payment provider.
The funding will be used to develop Zap-Map’s commercial goals, which include building on its paid-subscription service and expanding its development team.
Richard Bourne, chief executive of Zap-Map, said: “This fundraising round allows us to accelerate Zap-Map’s core mission – making it simple for current and future electric vehicle drivers to plan journeys, search and pay for electric vehicle charging.
“Good Energy has proven a powerful partner to date and we are delighted to have a new strategic collaboration with Fleetcor which will supercharge our ambition to accelerate the provision of services to the fleet market and allow us to look ahead and expand internationally.”
Good Energy claims this funding boost is in line with its strategy to accelerate the use of clean power.
The company sees Zap-Map as having a major role in this goal, which covers clean energy supply, energy services and transport. It plans to help one million homes and businesses cut carbon emissions by 2025.
