Toyota’s EV Charging Solutions business unit has announced a collaboration with US public fast charging network EVgo to deploy eight-stall DC fast charging stations for electric vehicles (EVs) in a number of cities in California, USA.
The first communities to receive the high-power 350kW DC fast chargers (DCFCs) are Baldwin Park and Sacramento in 2025.
Each site will be installed, owned and operated by EVgo, and feature simultaneous charging capabilities.

The cities receiving DCFCs were chosen using the CalEnviroScreen tool and based on certain criteria such as resident income levels, demographics, air quality levels, and areas that have or are expected to have meaningful EV penetration.
In Sacramento, the new chargers will be installed near to Arden Fair Mall, a known high-traffic area close to the freeway with multiple options for dining, shopping and other activities.
Senator for California, Susan Rubi,o said: “Investing in public charging not only supports EV drivers, it also benefits everyone in our community by encouraging zero emissions travel in an area that has experienced historically poor air quality.”
Achievements and innovations in EV charging infrastructure will be celebrated at the third annual CiTTi Awards, which will be held on 26 November 2024 at De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in London.
