Brighton and Hove council has reported a 100% uptake in the use of its 20 newly-installed cycle hangars.
The first wave of cycle hangars was introduced in Brighton and Hove last month.
All 120 of the spaces available have reportedly been taken up by residents to store their bikes.
The council plans to install the next batch of 40 in the coming weeks, with a total of 100 scheduled to be operational in the area by the end of 2022.
Steve Davis, councillor and co-chair of the Environment, Transport and Sustainability committee said: “It’s great that so many spaces have already been taken up by residents, but not surprising in the least.
“We knew there was huge demand for these hangars; that people wanted secure storage for their bikes and I am looking forward to seeing even more on the city streets in the coming weeks and months.
“If we give people the right infrastructure and tools, they’re in a better position to make active travel choices and this is what cycle hangars are doing.”
The hangar initiative is being rolled out in stages across a variety of locations, which will be advertised ahead of installation through a traffic regulation order (TRO).
