Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) provider Kapsch TrafficCom has been selected to manage the MOVIMA (Malaga Traffic Mobility Observatory) Traffic Regulation System at the Malaga Management Centre. Kapsch will also oversee and develop the MOVIMA access control system to the City Centre.
Malaga intends to become a leader in urban mobility management and the city’s integrated mobility management system, developed by the Council and Kapsch technology, will help the city achieve its goals.
“We are proud that the City Hall of Malaga, one of the leading smart cities, has trusted us to improve urban mobility management”, said André Laux, COO, Kapsch TrafficCom. “This new contract represents an important step forward that evidences our capacity and solid position in the intelligent traffic management solutions sector for Smart Cities”.
The project investment is around 5.8 million and will include the use of Kapsch EcoTrafix software platform. This will integrate the city’s systems for urban mobility and bring together the real-time data publication of traffic conditions. This will give commuters to determine the best route and option for their journeys. The aim is to have more sustainable, safe and efficient multimode transport use.
