Clean Motion, a provider of electric vehicles (EVs) for last-mile deliveries, has launched an electric solar-powered delivery vehicle, named EVIG.
The company claims the vehicle is now available for order, with deliveries expected by Q1 2023.
Alongside the launch of the delivery vehicle, Clean Motion has revealed its new digital fleet configurator to support organisations in the calculation of costs and emissions of EV fleets.
What’s more, the last-mile firm suggests the EVIG is optimised for last-mile deliveries in urban environments and is capable of carrying a diverse range of cargos and payloads, from pallets to groceries, while operating with minimal impact.
According to Clean Motion, within Europe alone there are more than 16 million light commercial vehicles (LCVs) operating in cities, most of which run on fossil fuels.
EVIG is intended to encourage a switch to more environmentally conscious city delivery and urban utility vehicles and reportedly has the lightest vehicle weight to cargo volume of any LCV on the market.
Some of its key features include 2.5m cubic metres of cargo space, 2.5m² solar roof for minimal dependence on charging infrastructure, low weight for optimised energy efficiency and long range and a battery range of up to 200km (124 miles).
