DispatchTrack, a last-mile delivery solution provider, has announced the launch of its AI-powered carbon emissions tracking to support organisations to meet their supply chain sustainability goals.
Available as a feature in the DispatchTrack routing console, CO2 tracking lets companies monitor their carbon output on a per-route, per-stop and per-vehicle basis.
The consumption of fuel by delivery vehicles is one of the largest contributions to carbon emissions within modern supply chains, and represents a substantial cost.
The last-mile delivery firm claims its AI-powered route optimisation engine can enable organisations to discover greener delivery options for improved fuel and vehicle mile efficiency. By considering stops and total distance driven, the solution can help last-mile delivery companies reduce fuel consumption across their fleet by at least 10%, according to DispatchTruck.
Moreover, the CO2 tracking feature can reportedly be easily added to a user’s existing DispatchTrack portal. Emissions data is included within routing and reporting screens, with updates occurring automatically as routes are changed.
Alex Buckley, general manager of EMEA and APAC Operations at DispatchTrack, said: “Consumers are making more and more of an effort to make sustainable choices.
“What better way for brands to help them do that—and show off their own success at boosting sustainability—than by being able to seamlessly track and report the reduction of CO2 emissions in their deliveries?”
Some of the solution’s CO2 tracking features include understanding existing carbon output, easier tracking of emissions, configuring emissions on a vehicle and load basis, offering new stop groupings to improve sustainability, efficiency and visualisation of carbon output data.
