Green last-mile logistics provider Urb-it has announced it will launch its cargo bike service in Manchester, as part of its commitment to the UK.
According to the Swedish company, its sustainable delivery model will offer green convenience for retailers, high-growth e-commerce firms and end-consumers across Manchester.
The fleet of cargo bikes will ensure that last-mile deliveries in the city are emission free, aiding the regions climate change action plan. Manchester aims to reduce its CO2 levels to 50% or below by 2038.
Sébastien Potts, Urb-it country manager UK, said: “Not only is Manchester a diverse, distinctive, and well-connected location, it is a thriving and sustainable city.
“Here at Urb-it, we are committed to playing our part in helping Manchester achieve its sustainability targets whilst furthering our own mission to transform logistics with a human service that fights for the health of our cities.
“Our dedicated team has already successfully brought end-to-end and green last-mile delivery services for e-commerce, retail in other major cities across the UK, and we hope to replicate this for Manchester. We are also very much looking forward to connecting and working with other B Corps and ethically minded businesses that can help Manchester flourish and become more ecologically sound.”
Additionally, Urb-it is looking to expand into other major UK cities such as Leeds and Liverpool later this year.
