Green last-mile logistics provider Urb-it has launched its zero-emissions delivery services in Scotland, as it introduces foot, bike, and e-cargo couriers to Glasgow.
With only two weeks to go until Glasgow hosts the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26), Urb-it will partner with the logistics sector and brands across Scotland’s largest city to deliver the last mile sustainably and efficiently.
The B Corp certified company added its service aligns with Glasgow City Council’s measures to improve air quality by encouraging more sustainable transport options. In December 2018, phase one of Glasgow’s low emission zone (LEZ) was introduced, applicable to local buses. From June 2023 this will expand to include all vehicles as part of the LEZ Phase 2.
Sébastien Potts, Urb-it UK country manager, said: “I am delighted that we are launching in Scotland’s largest city and this is an exciting next step in our expansion across the UK in 2021. We are committed across Urb-it to providing customers with a sustainable last mile delivery solution while creating a truly customer-centric experience. We look forward to our role in making Glasgow healthier through this and establishing a strong partnership with the city and all the exciting brands located there.”
During 2021, Urb-it has expanded from three to nine cities across two of Europe’s largest e-commerce markets, the UK and France. It added it has strengthened relationships with its partners and signed new agreements with several e-commerce brands. In the UK Urb-it has signed agreements with Yodel and the Co-op.
