The Lithuanian Road Administration is to conduct a study into the future of electronic pricing across the country. Paulius Bautrėnas told an audience at the Road User Charging conference that the existing time based vignette was an insufficient measure to ensure adequate funds were raised to maintain the road network. Since July 2007, owners of goods vehicles, buses and special purpose vehicles have been required to pay a time based fee calculated according to vehicle class and weight. Bautrėnas advised that the Administration would conduct a comprehensive study over the coming months before deciding upon the best course of action.
