From May 2020, Mercedes‑Benz will deliver 130 hybrid Citaro city buses to the Romanian capital Bucharest.
Depending on the operation, the bus’s hybrid module reduces fuel consumption and emissions output by up to 8.5%.
With an output of up to 14kW and 220Nm of torque, the electric motor supports the drive assembly primarily when demand for power is high; when pulling away, for example.
In the last decade, Bucharest city authorities have ordered a total of 1,000 Citaro buses.
