Micromobility operator Dott claims to have seen a 73% increase in the use of its e-scooters and e-bikes in Q2 compared to Q1 2022.
Dott claims that total rides are up by 192% year-on-year, with riders more than doubling (116%) between April and June.
The most common reasons provided by new riders were time saving (58%), enjoyment (53%) and ease of use and availability.
Since the start of 2022, rides on Dott’s e-bikes have reportedly increased by 180%.
Henri Moissinac, co-founder and CEO at Dott, said: “The summer season provides a great opportunity for more people to try our shared e-scooter and e-bike services for the first time.
“Our riders are quick to realise that our vehicles can transform their travel experience, using our service for efficient, fun and reliable travel on a more regular basis.”
Throughout 2022, Dott has expanded into several new markets, including recent expansions in Tel Aviv and Stockholm, where it has seen a notable uptake in the use of its services.
The micromobility firm also announced plans to deploy e-scooters and e-bikes in Grenoble.
Dott claims social and environmental benefits are its key objectives, and that it is currently working to reuse, upcycle or recycle all of its used vehicles and parts and to exceed a five-year lifetime on all its vehicles.
Dott is aiming for its logistics fleet to be fully-electric and powered by totally renewable energy in all its operating locations.
The e-scooter and e-bike service is designed to be as accessible as possible, with the company supposedly working with local communities to ensure fair coverage in all its cities.
