Ecommpay, a payment service provider, has announced the launch of a payment platform designed for micromobility suppliers and ride-sharing services.
The company said it is responding to the growing number of shared mobility schemes in urban areas and aims to provide a payment solution for these expanding markets.
The solution, which can be integrated into existing mobility ecosystems, can be used for ride-sharing and car-sharing, taxi and ride-hailing, bike- and scooter-sharing, and delivery services.
According to Ecommpay, the solution provides mobility companies with a unified payment process ensuring brand continuity and accessibility in all markets. It also provides customers with familiar payment methods such as Apple Pay and Google Pay.
Platform users can accept rides and bookings online and via smartphones, with customers able to use any available payment method as well as saving payment details securely using tokenisation.
Furthermore, the solution allows zero-amount authorisation allowing riders to verify cards without being charged. Users can pay as they go with a mobile app that facilitates the withdrawal of a small amount of money at the end of a ride, enabling companies to authorise a predetermined amount and only charge for the precise time the vehicle was rented.
It can be customised for language, currency and design preference with fully native SDK integration.
Paul Marcantonio, executive director of Ecommpay, said: “We are witnessing a major transformation in the way we travel around urban spaces, with micromobility and Mobility-as-a-Service set to become the future for transport.
“For growing mobility companies, payment infrastructure needs to be a priority if a flawless customer experience is to be created and maintained across all markets.”
