Brisbane, Australia-based e-Motion Concepts (eMC) has announced the formation of a new business unit targeting the personal transport market for mobility in urban environments.
EMoS Australia has identified a portfolio of electric personal mobility devices (PMDs), ranging from a three-wheeled e-scooter and two electric three-wheeled moped scooters to an electric delivery scooter.
Wolfgang Roffmann, founder and CTO of eMC, said: “In our search and development of urban transport solutions for people and goods, we have come across a number of innovative and exciting electric personal transport vehicle options.
“We felt that there is a demand in getting around the urban environment in an efficient and effective way, whilst not compromising on safety at an affordable cost.”
The first product to be made available will be the ILARK three-wheeled e-scooter. This PMD fully complies with federal requirements and Queensland legislation, which means it can be used legally in the state, similarly to Lime and Neutron scooters.
The three other PMDs are classified as mopeds and can be driven in Queensland, Southern Australia, Western Australia and the Northern Territory with a normal car license. In New South Wales and Victoria a provisional motorcycle license is the minimum requirement.
Two of the vehicles, the ITANGO and ITANK, are extensions of the ILARK e-scooter. Both share the same steering mechanism with ILARK e-Scooter, but come with higher speed and extended range.
“Our emphasis for these vehicles has been to give urban commuters more, more safety, more agility and more fun,” said Roffman.
The fourth model, P2000, is a conventionally styled electric moped style scooter specifically designed for the urban delivery market. Pricing start at A$3,900 (£2,044), and will be distributed by eMC as part of its commercial electric vehicles portfolio.
All four vehicles feature swappable batteries, which gives them increased availability and reduces charging time-outs with additional batteries.
The ILARK scooter and ITANGO moped lead themselves to possible sharing, rental applications in tourist, campus or apartment complexes or as personal mobility vehicles for corporate fleets in urban environments.
The vehicles will be available from early February 2020. EMoS is currently seeking expressions of interest from stockist and dealer as retailers, rental and hire businesses and corporates interested in fleet supplies.
The iLARK e-scooter is available now for pre-order for delivery before Christmas. The iTANGO, the iTANGO and the P2000 delivery scooter are now available for pre-order for delivery in February 2020.
