HumanForest has introduced its e-bikes to the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, as part of its expansion in the UK capital.
The e-bikes, which operate on zero greenhouse gas emissions and are serviced with an entirely electric fleet, join fellow micromobility operator Dott, which launched in the borough last week.
As the only micromobility provider in the UK to offer a fully carbon neutral service, HumanForest said is in a strong position to help Hammersmith and Fulham meet its sustainability targets. The borough hopes to reduce the number of polluting journeys to improve local air quality, whilst working towards their target of net-zero carbon emissions by 2030, earning them the title of the greenest borough in Britain.
Cllr Wesley Harcourt, cabinet member for the environment, Hammersmith & Fulham Council, said: “We’re working hard to ensure the people who live, work and spend quality time in Hammersmith & Fulham can make healthier, greener choices for their journeys within and beyond our borough.
“Our joint venture with HumanForest is yet another way in which we’re empowering our residents to travel sustainably, cut carbon emissions and take climate action together. Having recently introduced e-bike rentals in H&F, it’s exciting to see our network grow so quickly.”
Free for 10 minutes daily and no unlocking charge, HumanForest’s unique model is designed to support a modal shift away from using cars for hyperlocal journeys, helping fulfil the borough’s ambition to make active travel the primary form of transport for its community.
The e-bikes operate a unique advertising-led revenue model, whereby consumers receive an advert from partners before and after using a HumanForest e-bike. This allows customers to ride for free for 10 minutes each day and costs £0.15 per minute thereafter.
Furthermore, HumanForest has created virtual parking bays, named ‘Green Bays,’ within its app where users can park free of charge. This means that rides that are under 10 minutes and end in a Green Bay are free of charge. All council marked bike parking bays in the borough are also Green Bays, incentivising users to park responsibly and end their trips in a considerate manner.
Agustin Guilisasti, Founder & CEO at HumanForest, added: “HumanForest’s continued expansion and launch in Hammersmith & Fulham marks an important milestone for the company as we become London’s largest e-bike operator.
“Sustainability is at the core of everything we do and we are thrilled to partner with Hammersmith and Fulham and support their quest to become London’s greenest borough.”
