E-scooter provider Bird is extending its Redditch trial area to include the town’s Alexandra Hospital.
The US micromobility company said this will help medical personnel and NHS staff benefit from its key worker free ride initiative.
It added that its expansion is part of a wider drive to ease and improve micromobility access for riders.
The Redditch trial was launched in September 2020 and the local council has reported that community feedback has so far been positive.
Redditch Borough Council leader Matt Dormer said: “Bird has been a very collaborative partner, and we’re pleased to help more people get to where they need to go without a car.”
Bird added that such a rapid rate of e-scooter adoption is particularly noteworthy given the UK’s chilly winter temperatures and ongoing travel restrictions.
